Personal and Pastry Chef Sage Beausejour was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She credits her love and passion for savory and sweet dishes to her Trinidadian grandmother, who took her into the kitchen at the age of three. Sage has always known that she wanted to be a chef. She attended the State University of New York College at Delhi where she received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Culinary Arts.
Sage explains her cuisine to be a mix of old traditions and new. She takes classical French influences and puts a spin on them to make it simple enough that even a home cook can make it. She believes that food can be tasty and healthy at the same time.
In 2012 Sage assisted in the opening of a new luxury culinary catering experience Oysters XO, within five different cities. She then moved to Miami in 2014 where she continued the expansion of Oysters XO. While there she decided to continue being in the kitchen and began working towards her personal chef career.
While working as the Sous Chef of Jazz at Lincoln Centers, Dizzys Club Coca Cola in 2016 Chef Sage competed on Food Network Chopped episode Cheap Eats. This opportunity helped to pivot her career and lead her to follow her first passion for pastry.
She has since been sought after by NBA players, prestigious families, and luxury companies.
Read about Sage’s success in the Trinidad Express article “Rosemary, Thyme and Sage” and Modern Luxury Brides Magazine Spring 15 issue. This is a testimony to Sage’s drive, ambition, and determination to master culinary arts.
